    Happy Valentines Day everyone!

  • Happy 19th!

    Happy birthday bro!

  • Turkey Day

I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving yesterday. I know I did; ate way too much, that’s for sure. Erin and I made the trek up to Detroit to enjoy the holiday weekend with my parents. All in all quite good, well, except for the snow, but that’s to be expected since we are up in MI.

Last night we went to the sold out Pistons vs Wizards game at the Palace of Auburn Hills. My Dad got free tickets from work, so the four of us (Brother, Dad, Erin, and myself) headed out. My Dad thought that the tickets were for the same section as the fight that happened last season, but the row was AA (section 115), so we figured we’d be 27 rows up from the floor. Turns out that the first seven rows are AA -GG because they aren’t permanent seats. We ended up being right behind the Piston’s bench. It was crazy. And the game went to two overtimes, granted the Pistons ended up losing. We definitely got our money’s worth though, oh wait…

  • It’s My Birthday

Yes, that’s right folks. after I hinted at it in a previous post, my birthday has finally arrived.  Again, I’d like to thank the Academy for this nomination, and my girlfriend for the guitar, and last, but not least, my parents for sending me an awesome card (front, back).  I don’t know where I’d be without any of you.

For the rest of you, like I said earlier, I accept cash.

  • Birthday

My birthday is coming up later this week, so everybody send me cash.  No, really.  However, I have gotten a gift already.  It’s from Erin, and it’s a guitar!  I’ve been wanting to get one for awhile now, but have always had something else I’ve needed more at the current time.  But now, I have one, and I have no excuses.

So far, I’ve learned a scale, and “A Horse with No Name” (well, at least the chorus).  I really need to work on strengthening my fingers, since they don’t seem to want to go where they need to currently.  That’ll come with time though.  She also got me a soft case and a nice chords book.  We were looking at intro to guitar books, but I can already read music and stuff, so I figure I may as well just jump right in.  Plus, there’s free stuff on the intarweb that I can use for that.  Ah, the intarweb.  Is there nothing you can’t help with?

  • St Patty’s Day

I hope everybody is having a wonderful St Patrick’s Day.  Be sure to go out and drink some beer for your friends here at rebelpeon.com.

In other news, I will be updating the site.  I actually have lots to talk about that I haven’t put up lately, I just haven’t gotten around to it.

  • Bowling

Went bowling this weekend with Erin and her family.  Man, I haven’t done that in forever.  I actually didn’t do that bad either with the second game coming in at 182.  Unfortunately, my thumb is now quite sore at the base.  As I recall, this seems to happen every time I go bowling.

But I had so much fun (and I did fairly well), that I was thinking about joining a league.  Hell, even a few coworkers were talking about it the other day, so maybe I will while I’m still here.

Oh yeah, and I want to wish Erin’s mom a happy “29th” birthday 😉

  • Valentine’s Day

Just throwing out a happy valentines day to everyone.  Erin received her gift in the mail today, and I think she enjoyed it 🙂

Oh, and for those of you that forgot, or whatever, just print out some of these coupons.  I’m sure your significant other will love them.

  • 2005

Well, another year has passed, and it seems like they are, as usual, just flying by.  I can’t really say that 2004 was a good or bad year, there were definitely high and low points.  For the coming year there are definitely things I want to do differently this year, and/or change.  I don’t really want to get into it here (I’ll probably get an “expectations meeting”), but those of you who know me, know some of the things I’m thinking of.

Anyways, for New Years, I headed back up to Chicago (2nd time this week, but still on the same tank of fuel).  I stayed at Ann’s place, and since she knows more people in Chicago than I do, I left her in charge of figuring out what we were doing for New Years.  Well, she knew some people that lived downtown that were having a party of sorts.  Now, this place was right downtown (as you can see from the link).  The part that makes this funny is that the people that live in said apartment are newlyweds, one is a school teacher, and the other is in law school at UIUC no less.  Also, there’s the fact that they own this place, and not simply rent it.  Well, I wouldn’t exactly say that they own it, more like their parents.  And I can only imagine how much they paid for this place that is like one third of the size of my apt.

Anyways, we had a good time, and we went outside (in the chilly weather without coats) to watch the fireworks display from the lake.  Lake Shore Dr was backed up all the way because people were just parking their cars on the road to watch the fireworks.  It was pretty nuts.  Anyways Ann hadn’t gotten much sleep the night before and so when we headed back up to the apt, she started falling asleep on the couch.  Well, the group had decided that hanging out in the apt was a bust, and instead wanted to visit a bar.  Being right downtown doesn’t afford you that much in the selection of bars, as I had already found out on Monday night when a family friend and I had scoured the area around Wacker.

Needless to say, the bar was pretty dead, and Ann was about ready to fall asleep on here stool.  I told her we should get a cab and head home.  Crazily enough, I didn’t receive any disagreement from her.  So we headed back to her place, and when we got there, her roommate, Evan, and his friend were watching The Rock.  In under 5 minutes, I swear that all of them were asleep.

That’s pretty much my night.  It was fun, could’ve been different, but being a “nice guy” has it’s benefits and downsides I suppose.  Who knows.

  • The Booty

Well, Christmas is over and it’s time to find out what everyone got. I got

A set of very nice knives
    Boxers
    Socks
    Scarf
    Sweater
Elliot Smith – From a Basement on the Hill
and “cool stuff” for my apartment consisting of some vases

I think that’s it, but it’s always hard to remember.

The one thing I noticed was that lime green must be the “in” color this year, since, I think, all the clothes I got had it in it.  For those of you that have seen my winter coat know that I actually enjoy green a lot, so it’s not a problem at all.

So, what’d all you guys get?
